The Forest Foundation

The Forest Foundation is a non-profit, 501 (C) 3 organization created in 1994 to inform Californians, particularly K-12 students, about the critical relationships among societal welfare, forest stewardship, and renewable resources of wood, water, wildlife, and aesthetics on which society depends.

Mission Statement

To foster public understanding of forest ecosystems in California by providing balanced, science-based information on environmental, economic, and societal uses of forest resources for present and succeeding generations.

Implementation Statement

The Forest Foundation is to lead in disseminating balanced scientific information and academically enriching educational materials, in experiential learning, in building active collaborative partnerships, and in energizing philanthropy to achieve its mission.

History

The Forest Foundation has educationally impacted over 1.25 million California students since its founding. In the past three years, that number is 254,027 students through direct outreach to 9,709 K-12 teachers.
