An environmental education unit on California’s forests aligned to CA and Next Generation Science Standards for Fifth Grade (Adaptable Grades K-8)

Lesson plans with teacher guidelines and activities that foster curiosity and generate discussion around the importance of all that California forests have to offer. The five Lesson Plans are: 1) Healthy Forests Healthy Planet, 2) Water, 3) Wonderful Wood, 4) Fire and California Forests, and 5) Climate and the Forest. In these Lesson Plans students will learn about the importance of California forests from ecological, managerial, and societal aspects. The Lessons can be presented in a classroom setting or at home and feature associated games, puzzles, activities, and projects.
